Chandrababu Visits Krishna River Boat Tragedy Spot

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu inspected the boat accident spot and enquired about the rescue operations that are taking up at Ferry Ghat. At least 19 people died after a boat capsized in Krishna River on Sunday evening.The accident occurred at Ibrahimpatnam holy shrine, 10 kilometers from Vijayawada. At that time, boat carrying up to 38 people, 17 people were killed. Another 15 people survived. Seven others are missing. Some others have been rescued by locals fishermen and NDRF teams. The accident took place at while going from Punnamighat to Pavitrasangamam at Vijayawada. Most of the dead were from Ongole.Three of the victims found to be relatvies of CPI leader Narayana.
