Shocking..Boat Capsized in Krishna River, 17 dead

Vijayawada : At least 17 people died after a boat capsized in Krishna River on Sunday evening.The accident occurred at Ibrahimpatnam holy shrine, 10 kilometers from Vijayawada. At that time, boat carrying up to 38 people, 17 people were killed. Another 15 people survived. Seven others are missing. Some others have been rescued by locals fishermen and NDRF teams. The accident took place at while going from Punnamighat to Pavitrasangamam at Vijayawada. Most of the dead were from Ongole.
Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya rushed to the spot and ordered an inquiry into the incident.Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala China Rajappa and Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy and others expressed grief over the trazedy.
