Navaratri festival begins at Kanaka Durga temple

Vijayawada:  Kanaka Durga temple at Indrakeeladri hills is ready Dasara festival celebrations from Thursday. The temple trust board and officials have made arrangements for devotees.
The two Chief Ministers from Telugu States--N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrashekhar Rao will visit the temple on the festival occasion.
The devotees will be allowed for darshan on Thursday, the first day, from 8.30 am after completion of snapnaabhishekam. The Goddess Durga will be decorated as Swarnakavachalaankruta Durga Devi on the first day of total 10 different alankarams in the nine days festival.
The darshan is allowed from 3 am to 11 pm for remaining eight days. The devotees will be allowed from 1.30 am on September 27 when the Goddess will appear to devotees as Sri Saraswathi Devi on the Moola Nakshatram,the birth star of Goddess, on the auspicious day of the festival. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will present silk clothes to Goddess on the same day.
The police have made elaborate security arrangements and deployed 5,500 personnel. ClosedCircuit cameras have been setup and barricades erected to maintain queue lines from Vinayaka Swamy temple near VMC Office.
Police Commissioner Goutam Sawang and Executive Officer Surya Kumari said that all arrangements have been made with coordination of all departments.
