Modi brings the Kia Motors plant to AP: BJP

AP BJP claimed that Kia Motors had set up its plant in Andhra Pradesh  as part of ‘Make-in-India’ drive of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, party state president Kanna Lakshminarayana said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was making false publicity against the Centre including on Kia Motors issue.

He said that Prime Minister Modi had convinced Kia Motors management to establish its plant in AP and alleged that TDP leaders created several hurdles to the South Korean company when its officials came to Anantapur to start the car manufacturing unit. He said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met Kia Motors officials only after the intervention of the Centre.

Accusing the Chief Minister of telling lies against the Centre on its contribution to state’s development,  he recalled that Naidu and his son Lokesh had openly supported the Centre’s special package instead of Special Category Status. “Now the same people are blaming the Centre and propagating untruths against it. That is why opposition parties boycotted the state government’s all-party meet in this connection,” he said. 

Lakshminarayana accused the state government of diverted the funds released by the Centre and demanded it to reveal the details of funds released by the Centre.  Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao was also present.
