Swachh Survekshan: Rajamahendravaram is gearing up to improve its ranking

Ahead of Swachh Survekshan 2019, the Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) is gearing up to improve its ranking. And soon, the civic body is going to start swachhta rounds in all the wards.Municipal Commissioner Sumeet Kumar Gandhi is hopeful of improvement in the RMC’s rankings by implementing several initiatives. “With the help of manpower and machine power, we are going to keep the city clean,” said the RMC chief. The civic body is going to be stricter on litterbugs. “We are going to be stricter with those that litter. There will be hefty fines imposed on the offenders.

We have already started lifting dustbins from city roads,” Sumeet Kumar added. He said that with the collective efforts of the civic body, the city will be among the top 10 clean cities of the country.The civic body’s solid waste management and the health department is going to lead this initiative, right from documentation to implementation of the requirements.
