World's first thermal battery plant inaugurated by CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled the world's first-ever thermal battery plant at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh state on Monday. The Plant is manufactured by the Bharat Energy Storage Technology Private Limited (BEST), the first-of-its-kind. The first-ever thermal battery plant has been aimed to boost up renewable sources of energy production, instead of non-renewable fossil fuel-based energy generation. It is also aimed to set up a Greenfield Project in India, through which many jobs are expected to be created within three years' time.
