Doctors at King George Hospital (KGH) at Vizag, performed a rare surgery on a 7-day old baby and opened her nasal and oral passages that were closed at birth. As the baby was born with both her nose and mouth shut, they had to send oxygen and milk through the trachea.
However, under the expert guidance of Neonatal care unit chief, Dr. Sudhakar, the doctors performed plastic surgery and opened the nasal and oral passages, successfully. The baby is now under post-operative care.
