No Maturity Politically For Jagan And Pawan

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao fired on  Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan he said the two leaders are no immature politically.While Mr. Pawan was still to understand the difference between cinema and real politics, Mr. Reddy kept himself out of the entire Assembly session, he said at a press conference here on Sunday.

“But our doors are open for all the like-minded parties to join hands with the TDP in taking on the BJP-led NDA government when the no-confidence motion comes up before Parliament next week. The is to restore the pride of the Telugu people and highlight the plight of the State due to the apathy of the BJP,” he said.“The YSRCP is a sinking boat and there is a tacit understanding between the BJP and the Jana Sena,” the Minister said.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan, in his two-hour speech in Guntur recently, did not take the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi even once despite the BJP being the main reason for the poor condition of the State, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said. “Rhetoric and allegations without proof are meaningless. He should learn to speak with proof like Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu,” he said.

Comparing Mr. Naidu with leaders such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L.K. Advani, and Karunanidhi, he said, “Mr. Naidu has completed 40 years in political and public life and is no novice. He is a leader of national stature and commands respect. But unfortunately, the BJP has completely disrespected him. This is not acceptable for the Telugu people. That is why we walked out of the NDA.”

“We are only seeking implementation of the promises made in the A.P. Reorganisation Act and nothing more,” the Minister said.

The then Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, had promised certain benefits to the State on the Floor of the House. Mr. Modi, who was then campaigning for the 2014 elections, too had promised to implement the Act. On coming to power, Mr. Modi went back on his promises, the Minister alleged.

Citing as examples, the HRD Minister said, “Seven Central institutions had been promised in the Act. Five of them – IIT, IIM, IISER, NIT, and IIIT – were sanctioned. Of the total funds of ?9,136 crore, only ?890 crore has been released in the last four years.

The State government, on its part, has given over 3,100 acres of land.”
