The public sector power utilities have taken steps to avert major disruption in power supply that is likely owing to the strike by contract employees, according to an official release.
In a review meeting here on Wednesday, AP-Genco MD K. Vijayanand and AP-Transco JMD Dinesh Paruchuri and P. Umapathi took stock of the situation. They said workers could be engaged from private agencies. Energy Minister K. Kala Venkat Rao was in touch with contract employees’ unions for finding an amicable settlement.
