Belt shops got permission to sell liquor till 1 am

Vijayawada: The prohibition and excise department has given special permission to the bars and liquor shops for selling liquor up to 1 am in Vijayawada city on December 31 and January 1. People celebrate the New Year by consuming liquor with friends and their beloved ones.
To cash in on the demand for booze in the city, the prohibition and excise department has given special permission to the liquor shops to sell liquor till late night. Usually, liquor shops are closed between 10 pm and 10.30 pm in the city.
Similarly, special permission has been given to the bars and restaurants to run the business till 1 am two days on December 31 and January 1. Liquor shops, bars and restaurants have already stock liquor worth crores of rupees in and around the city.
